In my second year at the University of Toronto in 2022, I embarked on an exciting journey with TEDxUofT, where I took on the role of Logistics Director. This was a milestone for me, as I became the first individual to be directly admitted to a directorial position and the sole second-year director on the team. However, the backdrop of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic presented unique challenges. The organization had not hosted any in-person events for several years, and all team members with experience in such events had graduated. This meant that our team was essentially starting from scratch, facing hurdles in terms of both team dynamics and event execution.
Fortunately, I found myself surrounded by an incredibly enthusiastic and talented team. Together, we poured our collective efforts into orchestrating the 2023 "Radiance" TEDxUofT conference, a monumental undertaking featuring 12 speakers, 3 performers, and an audience of 500. I'm immensely proud to share that our event received the prestigious accolade of "2023 Event of the Year" from UTSU. One of our remarkable speakers, Dr. Monica Vermani, made a significant impact with her speech, amassing over 260,000 views and counting on YouTube.
As an organizer, there is nothing more rewarding than witnessing the positive reception and inspiration our event has generated. It extends beyond the university campus, resonating with individuals from diverse fields in society. This aligns perfectly with TED's mantra of 'Ideas worth spreading,' and it fuels my determination to continue fostering brilliant ideas and inspiring people through our TEDxUofT platform.

"In Grade 12, I had the honour of becoming a featured speaker at TEDxKerrisdale. My talk focused on the crucial topic of environmental protection, specifically addressing the importance of eco-friendly driving practices. During my speech, I highlighted various strategies and procedures that drivers can adopt to minimize the negative impact of their vehicles on climate change, primarily through the reduction of carbon emissions. This experience marked the inception of my journey into the world of
One of my most notable achievements is my extensive involvement with the Noble Youth Society (NYS). My journey with NYS commenced in the 9th grade when I assumed the role of Administrative Lead. Over the subsequent years, I progressively ascended the ranks to become Vice-President and ultimately President during my 12th-grade year.
NYS is a non-profit organization committed to empowering young adults by providing them with a multitude of resources to contribute meaningfully to their community. Over the course of my four years with NYS, we successfully organized numerous events of varying scales and formats, all driven by the shared objective of extending support to our local community. One of our most significant contributions was establishing a sustained donation initiative for the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation. Through creative endeavors such as Halloween Workshops, Mid-Autumn Galas, Cooking Competitions, and a diverse array of fundraisers, we diligently raised funds to contribute to this noble cause.
I collaborated with my fellow team members at NYS to organize numerous fundraisers for the foundation.
Volunteered at both the water station and recycling station to contribute to environmental conservation.
Primarily responsible for overseeing the China Pavilion, where my role involved promoting cultural diversity.
Volunteered at the Santa Workshop, where I introduced young children to the history of Christmas and provided face painting services.
Organized a fundraiser for the aquarium to address the financial challenges resulting from a decrease in visitors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hosted a concert featuring both young adults and children as performers, using the power of music to convey love and support to our senior audience.
